From September 2024 – February 2025, the BCFNJC Women’s Team, supported by the Indigenous Justice Secretariat, Ministry of Attorney General, met with representatives from 28 areas of the Provincial government to discuss the Indigenous Women’s Justice Plan (IWJP), look for alignment, and build relationships to assist in implementation planning.
These were not consultations, but starting points to share the IWJP and begin building respectful collaborative relationship as we move toward implementation planning with shared responsibilities and values.
Relationships were built with aligned Government partners including the Environmental Assessment Office, Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Management, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (that is now Ministry of Environment and Parks), Ministry of Energy, Mines and low carbon innovation (that is now Ministry of Energy and Climate Solutions and Ministry of Mining and Critical Minerals) and, the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, to name a few.
