BCFNJC is in the process of developing an innovative and holistic model of legal aid services that reflects the need for better, more effective, more culturally informed legal aid services for Indigenous people. This new model is being created through fulsome engagement across B.C., to understand the current state, and to plan for the future state of legal aid services for Indigenous people in the province.
This engagement summary, Legal Aid Services Transition: Community Engagement Summary, presents feedback on the current and future states of legal aid services for Indigenous people, gathered at the 3rd annual justice forum, through in-person and virtual engagements, and through an online survey.
